Its not an Onion, Its a TURNIP!

Week 17!!! WE ARE GETTING CLOSE!

thats right we are on week 17, and we are the size of a large turnip... or so says the baby website =)

We have our monthly checkup Thursday morning, they always sorta freak me out. I am such a worrier that its hard to go into the doctors office with any sort of cheery disposition. I get very frantic about the "what if's" and "anything can happen" that I almost always cry before.

Other news, I missed last week's post, I was so busy and nothing much had changed other than my ever-expanding waist line. Work and photography have been keeping me busy so there hasn't been alot of downtime to kick back. Second trimester has been so much better than the first, its nice to have some energy rather than absolutely none. What's more, is I remember the feeling of complete exhaustion and hopelessness so vividly that everyday that I wake up NOT feeling that way, I am so grateful and it makes the day that much more enjoyable.

Going through this pregnancy with friends who are also pregnant has been a godsend as well. I have one a few weeks ahead of me and one a few behind. So watching them has sort of guided me along. Knowing there is someone there to relate to and ask questions to huge! Its difficult to try and explain to your spouse the changes and hormones going on in your body. Actually I say "difficult" and I mean impossible. Through no fault of their own, I just go with the saying from "Friends": "No uterus, no opinion!"

TheBump.com website has also been so great! I post on the boards and ask questions and always get a response. My mother has also come up from South Texas for her second trip this summer. She is a fantastic role model, she was super mom and still is. She seems to remember all those little details my husband and I glance over. She has helped get the house in order, look at cribs, gliders, baby towels (which I never knew you needed) Essentially other moms are great and fantastic and if you are pregnant you need to find one and start asking all your questions.. they are so much better than any baby book you can find!
